Brand identity for independent felt toy maker The Lemon Button

The problem

The Lemon Button is a successful Etsy store selling handmade personalised felt name banners, garlands and make-your-own felt toy kits for children. Like many independent makers, when they first started out, they tried their own hand at logo design. While this was fine for a time, as their business grew they knew they needed something better – something that would perfectly match their vision of bringing felt happiness to the world. That’s where Creative Switch came in.

The solution:

We worked directly with the client to understand the brief and the aims of the brand. We came to understand that it had to be modern, it had to be memorable, and it had to bring the vibrant personality of The Lemon Button experience to life. As a result, we developed a clean and contemporary typographical concept where we used the letter ‘n’ in both words in the name to create an icon word mark – all positioned a round yellow button. The tagline, ‘Felt happiness since 2013’, playfully brought everything to life and the friendly sans serif typeface along with the bright sunny yellow perfectly matched the brand’s joyful and uplifting tone.
