An identity and campaign for Family Action’s Play programme

The problem

Family Action is a national charity committed to building stronger families and brighter lives. They asked Creative Switch to develop a sub-brand for their new innovative product the ‘Play programme’ in partnership with Fisher-Price™ Play Lab. They came to Creative Switch to help them create a brand that stood out from the crowd to help families find quick and easy ways to build play into their every day and help their children thrive.

The solution

Using the idea of building blocks to strengthen and remind audiences of Family Action’s strategy to ‘Build Stronger Families’. we seized the nostalgic sliding block puzzle idea to design an instantly playful iconic style borrowed from the gaming world.

The programme is designed into five modules, where time-poor parents and carers with young children receive play support via weekly emails. To make sure the brand was easily identifiable but felt new and exciting each week we imaginatively used the core brand colour scheme to navigate adults through the programme, with a different colour each week. With a strong sub-brand programme materials were easily adapted for online and print to promote and engage new and existing audiences.
